Organic clothing

Organic clothing has gained massive popularity among the masses of the present century for a vast number of reasons.

1. Pollution

Fast fashion is the third most pollutant industry in the world. Manufacturing and shipping clothes uses massive amounts of toxic chemicals and leaves tons of waste. the average American tosses 82 pounds of textile waste each year.

2. Scarce resources

A pair of jeans and a t-shirt takes 5000 gallons of water to produce - 12 times what the average person drinks in a year. Top scientists warn that a water crisis is looming, and the World Economic Forum rated water scarcity the single most important global risk over the next ten years. Companies who can adapt to sustainable practices, using less water, will earn respect from their customers - and will be well placed to survive when water supplies are less abundant, and more expensive.

3. Employees

All too often, the fashion industry falls short in paying a living wage and providing safe conditions for its workers. Who can forget the 2013 factory collapses in Bangladesh, which killed over 1500 people, and caused outrage at the mass market brands who manufactured there? Customers want to feel great about their clothes, and that includes feeling great about how they were made. Fair wages and happy workers are ethical policies - and they are a strong selling point.

Reasons Why You Should Wear Cotton Made Clothing

Cotton is a shrub fiber , it creates a  yarn in order to make a breathable and soft textile or fabric. In addition, cotton traps the air in between fibers of the fabric.   cotton material do not stick onto your skin; thus, sufficiently insulating your body. It is estimated that more than 25 million tons of cotton bales are produced each year, may be this is the reason.. Cotton made fabric were already in vogue even for thousands of years ago.

According to experts, cotton absorbs around one fifth of its weight before it can be considered as damp.

Non Allergic

Cotton made clothes are hypo-allergenic. It is a known fact that cotton textile do not or rarely causes allergic issues or reaction. In fact, most dermatologists recommend wearing this kind of fabric in order to ward off skin allergies.  Cotton does not irritate the skin; thus, it is one of the usual major ingredients in medical products like gauze and bandages.  In addition, baby clothing are usually made of cotton because it compliments sensitive skin.

Durability

What makes cotton very ideal is that it does not have inherent odor so you can wash it quickly. There’s no need to wash it for an extended period too, wasting so much time, power, and detergent of course.  Cotton fibers stick together longer compared with synthetic fibers as the latter tends to break down easily and becomes fuzzy.

Less Toxic

Since it is a natural fiber, cotton is less toxic compared with other synthetic fiber.  Cloth fibers which are synthetically prepared are treated with chemicals. Most of these can be absorbed by the skin.

Why they are good for Eco System

Cotton is sustainable, renewable, and biodegradable, making it an excellent choice as an environmentally-friendly fiber throughout its entire product life cycle. Most chemical fibers are petroleum based, which means they come from nonrenewable resources.
